Sky Protect services as a type of insurance that covers your Sky equipment and all of your viewing devices. The service provides as many repairs or replacements as are needed, so your services will always be put back in working order as quickly as possible. Any unexpected breakdown or fault can come between you and your entertainment. The Sky Protect plan helps to limit the expense and inconvenience of such problems.
What’s Included in Sky Protect?
Cover is offered for dishes, remotes, cables, routers, boxes, and On Demand connectors. This includes both breakdown and cover for accidental damage. There is no limit to the number of repairs or replacements, so long as the plan cost is paid. In the event that a device or piece of equipment cannot be repaired, it will be replaced at no additional cost. Furthermore, there are no charges for technician visits and customers can call the Sky helpline 7-days a week.
Cover can include your televisions, laptop computer, tablet, and gaming console. Cover is available for televisions, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 devices that are less than 8 years old. Cover is available for laptops or tablets that are less than 3 years old. Any covered items must have cost less than £2,000 when they were purchased and be in good working order when Sky Protect is purchased. On television cover, a delivery charge will apply if the unit has to be completely replaced.
Sky Protect Plus Cost
At this time, there are several service plan options to choose from. Since prices are subject to change, it is best to call the Sky contact number to request up-to-date pricing information from one of the customer service agents.
The available options include:
-Sky equipment +1 device for £9.99 per month or £119.88 per year. This plan covers breakdowns and accidents and includes unlimited repairs and replacements. Your viewing equipment is covered and you choose the one device that is to be covered.
-Sky equipment +2 devices for £12.99 per month or £155.88 per year. This plan covers breakdowns and accidents and includes unlimited repairs and replacements. Your viewing equipment is covered and you choose the two devices that are to be covered. Dual device cover is available for £3 a month extra.
-Sky equipment +3 devices for £15.99 per month or £191.88 per year. This plan covers breakdowns and accidents and includes unlimited repairs and replacements. Protection is provided for for multiple ways to watch.
Sky Protect Repair Visits
When repairs are needed, Sky will only send out one of their own engineers to solve the problem. They do not use third-party repairmen to go on service calls to your home. Their engineers are available for repair appointments seven days a week, and will come to your home to complete the needed repairs on the weekend if you wish. Call the Sky contact number to report a problem and schedule a home visit. Engineers will typically make repairs to your television, tablet, or gaming console outside of your home and Sky will cover the cost of collecting and returning your item. In other cases, repairs on these devices will be completed in your home.
Sky Protect Payments and Billing
The price of your Sky Protect plan will not increase if you have more than one repair completed. The plan covers as many repairs as are needed at no extra cost. Sky does ask that if you have a problem with any of your equipment, that you read through some of the troubleshooting tips that are available online. If that doesn’t solve the problem, you can call the Sky contact number to book an engineer appointment.
There are a few options available for paying for your Sky Protect Plus policy. Direct Debit and credit and debit card payments are accepted. Please note that any direct debit payments for this service plan are going to be separate from your regular Sky service payments. If you have received a special offer by post that offers a discounted rate, select “Received a Letter” on the order and payments page to access the correct rate.
Prior to the final date on your Sky Protect policy, Sky will send you a letter regarding the available options for purchasing a new policy. The notice will include the new rate that will need to be paid in order to continue to receive protection. This rate may or may not be higher than the rate that you were previously paying. If you use direct debit as your chosen payment method and wish to continue to receive service, there is nothing that needs to be done on your end. Sky will automatically provide an additional 12-month service plan. If you do want to cancel, you will need to contact Sky customer service and make your wishes known.
Sky Protect Cancellation
If you find that you no longer wish to pay for Sky Protect coverage, it is your right to cancel the plan and no longer be billed. There are several options for letting Sky customer service know that you wish to cancel, including calling the company contact number, sending an email, or mailing a cancellation notice via post. If you choose to upgrade your Sky box, the price of your protection policy may increase. Sky will notify you if the price is to increase and will give you time to cancel your plan before the new rate takes effect. Sky Protect Complaints
If you have any complaints about the service plan, Sky asks that you call their contact number to report them to the customer service department. They vow to listen to your complaint and then take action to try to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. There is a complaints handling document located on the Sky website, and customers may want to read this before they contact Sky to submit a complaint.
